Coming to Buckley Air Force Base?
With the bluest skies and abundant rising and falling hills, Aurora is a vibrant community with more than 306,000 residents where the median age is 32. The city is 149.65 square miles and the official elevation is 5,435 feet. Cost of living is affordable with the median family income being $59,385 and the median home price is $156,000. Located a few minutes east of Denver, and north of the Tech Center countless activities await you. There are over 103 parks and open spaces. Some worth mentioning are: Expo Park which features an 18-hole disc golf course, miles of walking trails and a newly renovated recreation center, Great Plains which features an outdoor spray ground, playgrounds, sports fields, basketball court, fitness stations, and walking paths and Sports Park is the place you’ll want to be if you play soccer, football, softball or baseball. Here are a few trails to note: The Cherry Creek Spillway which serves as the connecting trail between the Toll Gate system and Cherry Creek State Park and Greenway and the 67-mile High Line Canal. With it’s proximity being so close to the Rockies within an hour you can be hiking, fishing, or enjoying world-class skiing. There are numerous events in Denver if the fine arts and being cultural are on your list of things to do. Opened in November 2006, T-REX completed it’s five-year design-build project adding 19 miles of light rail and improving 17 miles of highway through southeast Denver, Aurora, Greenwood Village, Centennial and Lone Tree. Denver’s RTD system is a reliable and safe alternative for transportation as well. There are two school districts that Aurora children typically attend. They are Aurora Public Schools, and Cherry Creek Schools , which is rated as one of the top school districts in the country.
