You've come to the right place!! This lovely city is a gem in the Denver area and offers many unique benefits to its residents. Located just south of Denver proper and bisected by I-25, Greenwood Village offers an easy commute to downtown Denver and Denver International Airport. Light rail to Downtown has just been completed. Greenwood Village is a part of the Denver Tech Center and offer free bus transportation around the City and to the DTC. The City is only 7.5 square miles in size and is home to 16,000 residents. It is rather long and narrow stretching from approximately Clarkson (near Broadway) on the West to Cherry Creek Reservoir on the East. Most of the city is about one mile wide, running from Belleview to Orchard Road. Greenwood Village is comprised of beautiful, low density residential developments as well as nationally recognized business parks to accommodate it's over 50,000 daytime occupants. In addition to the High Line Canal, which wanders through Greenwood Village, there are 21 parks and many miles of maintained trails, bike paths and right of ways throughout the city. The Parks department has won numerous awards for landscaping in the parks and public medians within the city. City government and residents alike take pride in this beautiful city and enjoy the many services provided to keep it that way. Weekly trash pick up is free for residents, including pick up of large items such as discarded appliances and yard debris. Most residential streets are swept weekly on the business day following trash pickup.
Although there is no recreation center at the present time, the City sponsors a number of sports leagues throughout the year for both children and adults. There is also a Recreation Reimbursement Program that repays citizens 50% of the cost of a diverse range of public recreation activities, including golf at many metro area public courses. A monthly newsletter is published and distributed free of charge to all businesses and residences in the City. Commitment to the community shows by the variety of events hoseted by the city to bring residents together.
